Description

The VMPlus and VMMinus indicators were introduced in the January 2010 issue of Stocks & Commodities magazine. Similar to directional movement (DX, DIPlus, DIMinus) in function and construction, VMPlus and VMMinus are a pair of divergent indicators and their crossing points represent changes in trend.

Interpretation

When VM+ is above VM-, the market is trending up and vice-versa. The authors claim that you can use the Vortex Indicators to identify a trend's "start, existence, or trend continuation" in any market."
