This Performance Visualizer shows a breakdown of profit
or loss on per instrument basis.
 |
- Applies to MSBs only.
- Chart Title will display "profit"/"loss" depending on portfolio outcome
- Note: Displays a percentage of total profit or loss ("net profit" is not used here)
- Winners/losers sorted in ascending order based on their profit/loss figure
- Largest winner/loser is highlighted by displacing its segment
- If the number of portfolio winners/losers exceeds a certain limit, those symbols that fall off "Top-N" will get their results summed and grouped into a separate segment called "Other instruments". This should avoid clutter when testing large portfolios e.g. Wealth-Lab 100. The threshold is determined automatically depending on overall number of winners/losers.
- If Provider supports security names (F/Y!/MSN/MS), it will be taken to display in the symbol's legend, otherwise symbols will be shown (WL4, ASCII). Restrictions apply (see below).
- Contains several optimizations specifically for extra large portfolios (e.g. S&P 500). Typically, these exhibit a great amount of small segments and the chart looks unpretty.
- Pie segments are limited depending on the number of tested instruments.
- To make better use of screen estate, either ticker or full company name (if available) is displayed depending on that limit.
- For instruments with insignificiant readings, everything including their label is hidden from the chart.
- A tooltip displays security name and net profit/loss.
Known issues
- Segments of the largest gainer/loser and "other instruments" always have the same color (applies when grouping is in effect).
- Long security names tend to push the percentage to go off screen. This can be fixed.
