What is it
This is a fundamental data provider for Wealth-Lab version 5.6 and up that downloads free fundamental items from the
YCharts web site.
Setting up
To start collecting nearly 40 fundamental items provided by YCharts, check the provider's entry in Wealth-Lab's Data Manager tool. Now, Wealth-Lab will also collect fundamental data after it finishes updating static data.
Usage
Fundamental data downloads are available when you click "Update all data..." (and have at least one data provider selected from the list of installed provider) or when "Update DataSet" is selected.
Note: Fundamental items aren't collected when "Update DataSet (Pricing)" is selected.
Be patient while the provider is downloading the data. Although data downloads are multi-threaded, it could be a lengthy process for large portfolios. Since new fundamental data items become available every 3 months, it's recommended that you uncheck the provider's entry in the Data Manager for daily updates!
Available fundamental items
YCharts makes available ten years worth of quarterly fundamental items for the U.S. securities. The data can be broken in three groups:
Valuation:- Market Cap, PE Ratio, Price to Sales Ratio, PEG Ratio, Price to Book Value, Earning Yield, Enterprise Value
Growth & Profitability:- Revenue Growth, Earnings per Share, Profit Margin, Gross Profit Margin, EPS Growth, Retained Earnings Growth, Return on Equity, SGA %, R&D %, Interest Expense %, Capital Expenditures %, Change in Cash and Equiv
Fundamentals:- Revenues, Expenses, Net Income, Total Assets, Liabilities, Shareholders Equity, Cash Operations, Cash Investing, Cash Financing, Cash on Hand, Free Cash Flow, Book Value per Share, Long Term Debt, Debt to Equity Ratio, Current Ratio, Receivables Turnover, Asset Utilization, Dividend, Dividend Yield, Stock Buybacks
Short descriptions are provided for each fundamental item in the
Fundamental Data dialog at any time by clicking the Fundamentals button in the Navigation or Function toolbars, from the Tools menu, a chart's right-click menu, or simply using the Ctrl+U shortcut.
Notes
- Data provided by Zacks.
- The data are refreshed for each update so that it's always the last 10 years, so it should be free from adjusting problems.
- To users of version 2010.07: the initial version had a bug with accessing FundamentalDataSeries fixed in 2010.08. Update using Extension Manager and reload your fundamental data for the bug fix to take effect.
